Vivonex RTF Elemental Diet is a ready to use, 100% free amino acid formula for complete tube feeding or oral supplementation designed for patients with severely compromised GI tracts, and it is also useful for stressed and catabolic patients. Since this unique formula requires minimal digestive functionality for assimilation while providing benefits associated with continued use of the GI tract, it provides nutritional support for individuals with severely impaired GI function such as severe protein/fat malabsorption, transitional feeding, extensive bowel resection, malabsorption syndrome, select trauma/surgery, early post-operative feeding, intestinal failure, pancreatitis, chylothorax, trophic feeding, TPN alternative, or dual feeding with TPN. Plus, only 10% of its calories are from fat to support and improve tolerance and reduce pancreatic stimulation. Vivonex RTF Elemental Diet is suitable for lactose-free, gluten-free, low-residue, and kosher diets, and it is intended for use under medical supervision.
